We got a painted quarter horse broodmare who is breaking out in welts all over her body. Most of the welts are small, about the size of a dime but some are silver dollar size. We think she may be having an allergic reaction to something but not sure just what yet. The welts are not painful and go away in a few days. We are considering some antihistamine if she gets worse. Not real excited about using any drugs while she is pregnant though. Anyone else ever seen this problem before?

I had a thoroughbred that had that exact same problem. turned out he was allergic to the shavings we were using for his bedding. we switched to pellets and never had a problem after that.
