Using a Chronograph
It's the Shooting Chrony Beta. I got it form Midway. It do not require software and it has the bench top meter.
I am not certian why such a variation of fpm. Some of it might be temparture. It was 20 out and first rounds of string, cold barrel, are slower, 5th rd of string faster. Warm chamber?. The temp warmed to 35 by end of session. The speeds picked up the 2nd half of session. I fired a complete gpoup of 5 rd lots, 8 lots or 40 rds. I do not clean and the 2nd half with same loads was faster.
All components are identical and each charge weighed.
Currently I am only loading to find a accurate load for the 250. With 40, 50 and 55 gr bulletts. I'll get the ballistics software later.
The most preplexing issue in none of the loads even come close to the load manuals fps.
I have 90 or so rds loaded for testing today if the weather will cooperate. Of course it is 0 deg this am.
