Reloading in 38 Special
This is awesome!
Here's what I got from MidwayUSA:
-- Lee Anniversary Reloading Kit with a fat book about re-loading (that includes the press - cheaper to get the kit with press than all other components separately)
-- Lee 4 Hole Turret Press with Auto Index
-- Lee Case Length Gage and Shellholder 38 Special
-- Lee Deluxe Handgun 4-Die Set 38 Special and 357 Magnum
-- RCBS 40-Round Case Loading Block (two of those)
-- Frankford Arsenal Case Tumbler with Standard Media Separator Kit
The whole thing including shipping for $276. Now all I need is some brass, bullets, powder and primers and I'm in business!
Thanks!

Reloading in 38 Special
jdcman, we use discarded politicians for target practice around here. Performance almost as good as ballistic gelatin. Unlike regular folks, the pols are full of sh*t, so normally rounds tend to overpenetrate.

Reloading in 38 Special
Glad to help. At least we got through this one without any racial slurs or bodies flying around, just some good Red State humor.
Midway is an excellent resource for almost anything you will need for reloading.

Reloading in 38 Special
DenisS,
Brand new to this forum but have been reloading for just about 50years, so here goes.
Your new setup will work fine-good basic outfit.
Go SLOW at first.
Check and re-check your powder loads as it is very easy to become distracted for just a second and double charge a pistol case-in the reloading game it can cause what we call a
kaboom. This usually means destroying the gun and perhaps a trip to the ER.
Once you get into reloading you will find it to be addictive-yes you can save tons of money but usually you end up buying more and nicer equipment and shooting a whole lot more.
I can recommend a number of other reloading forums on the web that have stickies related to new reloaders- find them and read them.
Reloaders are more than happy to share their knowledge - if able, ask around at a range or gunshop to see if anyone there reloads and more than likely you can get information or even a mentor.
Like I said before, great fun, plenty to learn but take it easy at first and check your work before you shoot.
Lot's more I could add but I am rambling now so I will stop.
Good shooting.
Gary
