  Calling Coyotes

My first attempt at calling with new FX3 went South in a hurry. I was down at the neighbors Heifer pasture. Set caller up above fence line and I set up a 100 or so yards away. First calls were a locator at 5am or so. Did not receive any type of response. Waited about 10 minutes and put on a calf bawl... 50 heads came up ears straight up here come 50 heifers at a dead run. Funny as hell now! They are pushing and shoving trying to see the little calf. Then about 20 of them spot me.

What did I learn... I need better camo...do't use calf bawl by neighbors pasture.

I'm headed out in a few minutes. Drinking my go juice now.

I've had my best luck calling using the Coyote Rendezvous call. If they are in your area, they will be right on you before you expect it!

Have you tried a RABBIT IN DISTRESS call? Might even get a Fox or two as well and it wouldn't bother Farm Animals.

YP it was funny to watch those heifers. They came to the calf bawl and ran like hell when I used the coyote locater, again. I've moved to a different area to work that swamp.

WW used the small distress last week. Brought in a batch of crows who circled then off to tree to talk crow bs in loud voices. Crows do not know it but they are legal Fri-Mon and the rifle can come back out 12/11. Smile

We are starting to get snow now. The calls should work better when they get hongry. Of course now there are piles of deer carcsess dumped all over.

I'm not to concerned. Nothing quite beats watching the sun come up. Especially when it's not Guard Duty in a Foreign country.

Gonna be plenty of opportunity this winter. Brother has dogs to run the critters.
