Wood grips on GP-100 revolver
Anyone tried to replace the stock rubber grip with all wood grips on a GP-100 model revolver? I just picked up a GP-141 and it has an interesting frame shape. I think that it'll only fit grips designed for this particular model. Do all-wood grips for this model even exist and if they do, do they look any good?

Wood grips on GP-100 revolver
Hogue makes a wood Monogrip for the GP series. Very nice stuff.

Wood grips on GP-100 revolver
I have been changing all my pistols over from wood grips to rubber.
Am or have I missed something? I thought the rubber was better in reducing recoil and gave a better grip with the finger recess shapes on larger calibers!
Fist thing I did was replace the combo rubber/wood grips on my Super RedHawk to Rubber Hogue's. I went with Pachmayer grips on my S&W .357.

Wood grips on GP-100 revolver
yooper, you're absolutely right. vanity has gotten the best of me. The way I look at it, if I can handle shooting with good looking grips (wood) then I'll pass on the rubber.

Wood grips on GP-100 revolver
I know what you mean. I have a Browning .22 pistol with some beautiful sculpted wood grips. They look good but also handle well. It's worth a try. Some of the wood is very artistic.
