Taurus Judge
About a year and half back my wife and I both got our CCP and get deal as it work her up to the dangers and how to protect yourself and your loved ones.
It also caused a buying of handguns for both CC and home defense. After a good bit of discussion ended up with a Taurus Judge for her in the house. The model we selected is chambered for the 3 inch 410. There are many who laugh at the gun saying it is good for nothing. So be their opinion or experience. That gun also chambers 45 colt rounds which we have only shot the cowboy loads in it to date.
The barrel is about 3 inches and this gun is way too heavy and large to me for toting. This does help it a lot with recoil in my wife's hands. She is not large nor real strong grip and has no problem firing and holding it on target.
Based upon our shooting it will cover a doorway (width) in 12 or so feet depending on the ammo you use. The barrel is rifled and the shot is spinning. Also based upon real test don't depend on the 2 1/2 number 6 shells to stop anyone. The shot from those shells only penetrate about 3 or 4 layers (not number of shirts) of men shirts hanging in front of plywood. Now 3 inch number 4 was different, think you can depend on those. However it is loaded with buckshot which as only three pellets and the number 4.
For in house with true point and shoot really like it.

Lot of great reviews on them. I believe either Ruger or S&W have just introducted one also.
They are very good with the .410 for close in work. They are not going to penetrate a sheet rock wall should the scum bag be between you and your family members room.
It would make me wet myself if I was looking down the barrel of it with a tiny 5'2" 98# woman holding it.
